Hunting Eggs

Over the last week, the Topknot Gang has been keeping me on my toes by laying stealth eggs. These can be laid anywhere. Under bushes, in the middle of the patio, next to the BBQ… The hiding places are endless!

To date, I have found eggs under the bushes, next to the BBQ and even hidden by the kitchen wall! I have no idea who the culprit is but whoever it is, they clearly enjoy me hunting all over the garden rather than laying in the nest box.

I reminded all of them that they have the choice of two dry, warm nest boxes with comfy, fresh bedding which they should be using. I have occasionally found the odd egg in strange places, most memorably, in the poo bucket. But this stealth laying is on a whole new level. I confess it does add some excitement to going outside to collect the eggs each day…
