Well, here we are at the end of 2024! It’s been a very challenging year at the allotment with a spectacularly wet winter and spring which meant we couldn’t get onto the plot before May. By which time half the growing season was over so there wasn’t too much we could do! and upon returning after a short holiday, the plot was overgrown with weeds. We cleared the plot and tried to keep it clear ready for next year, which hopefully will be drier!

Alongside the difficulties with the weather, I’ve been experiencing prolonged technical issues with my camera which has impacted my enjoyment of writing this blog. However, armed with a new camera, I am looking forward to getting back to writing this blog regularly and sharing more photos with you all.

The chickens continue to amuse and terrorise us. Our flock in the main coop welcomed (?) Flo who rapidly took charge. Over in the New Coop, Mavis, Bonny, Foxy and Ginny continue to refuse to sleep in their nest box, preferring random spots outside in their run.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be putting together a plan for the new growing season as well as a request for less rain! Although judging from the storm currently raging outside, that might be a bit too much to ask…
