We popped down to the plot this evening to check on the chickens. As we walked down the plot, I spotted a small brown spikey hump moving slowly down the path ahead of us. Upon closer inspection, we discovered it was an adult hedgehog!
We know there are hedgehogs on the site but it’s been ages since we have seen one! To our amazement, it turned and began to walk towards us as we stood silently, holding our breath, wondering how close it would get. It ambled slowly past us and headed across Lee’s plot towards a pile of tree cuttings.
We fed the chickens in a haze of excitement, much to Flo’s disgust before heading over to the plot to check on our apricot tree. Incredibly, the apricots are still growing although they are nowhere near ripe yet!
Plan for tomorrow (assuming the weather cooperates) is to clear the weeds on Geoff’s plot before tackling the weeds on our plot.
