An evening visit to the allotment

Having managed to coerce my long suffering friend Fiona to move up north, she has got herself an interview tomorrow. So as a supportive friend, I helped her burn off extra nervous energy by getting her to start digging over the bottom plot….

And here she is battling a beast of a doc plant – the roots of these plants are horrifically deep and seemingly have no end. My other half has previously dug a 3 ft deep hole to try to find the bottom of a root and failed!

Physically worn out, Fiona and I left the allotment ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.
