Opening up the nest box this morning, we discovered Nimbus cuddled up with Cirrus and Stratus breathing normally and back to her usual self. as the best box door opened, Nimbus was the first one out and ran the length of the coop to get to the food bowl.

There’s no sign of strange breathing noises and she is happily back with her girls. Maybe she had something caught in her throat yesterday? It’s the only thing that could explain why it suddenly came on and disappeared within a couple of hours. But whatever it was, we have new knowledge of medicine for chickens!
One of my rabbits choked on a pellet. When I found him he was still choking, an emergency car ride to the vet dislodged it but his lungs very quickly filled with fluid. A shot of steroid helped quite quickly. Maybe Nimbus had something similar.

That’s what my husband thought too. It was so quick to start, in just after of half an hour. It was quite scary! But she is fine now and back to her usual cheeky self thankfully!
