Quiet afternoon

Yesterday afternoon, I arrived at the allotment mid-afternoon with no real plan. With rain forecast, I thought I wouldn’t start on any big jobs. Once the chickens were fed, I let Roxy and Foxy out for an explore. Roxy immediately came out and began scratching but it took a while for Foxy to join her. Naturally more timid, she stayed close to Roxy who didn’t seem to appreciate having an adoring shadow. Several times, she chased poor Foxy off. In the next few days, Foxy will have some backup in the form of Trixy who is getting to the end of her tether with her chicks.

Sitting in the shed, enjoying the view, the time seemed to disappear and before I knew it, it was five o’clock! Corralling Roxy and Foxy into their coop, I shut the shed and ran home to make dinner.
