Despite my best efforts over the past two days, Cassie continues to go downhill. I have been feeding her water and brewers yeast, giving her baths and kept her warm inside. Sadly, none of this seems to be working. Today, she has spent most of the day asleep in strange positions before I could persuade her to settle in Pop’s wheelchair, propped upright with a rolled towel.
As she spends more time asleep and has begun to refuse food and water, I suspect it won’t be long until the end. It’s always upsetting especially when you have spent lots of time trying to nurse them back to health. For now, she’s still with us.

Bless her and you for looking after her. I’m afraid I think you’re right, I know with my girls how fast they go downhill once they give up eating. But I do hope she turns a corner and proves us both wrong. We can but hope x

I’ve nursed many hens over the years too, and it still upsets me greatly when I lose one. Sadly, I know you’re right.
